Founding Story
It’s probably not a surprise, but the idea of Wilderdog started around a crackling campfire on a typical weekend summer camping trip. We're a small group of friends, often outnumbered by dogs, always camping, climbing, skiing, biking, and seeking adventure. And we found ourselves without durable leashes, collars and gear. Often times retired climbing rope or old webbing or cordelette was how we kept a handle on our dogs. From here, our original leash idea was born.

Founder of Wilderdog, lifelong dog lover, and firm believer that adventure is better with a dog by your side. With a background in design and a passion for the outdoors, I’ve always loved creating things that blend creativity, functionality, and purpose.
While thru-hiking the Tahoe Rim Trail the idea for Wilderdog was born. It started with a simple concept: the old climbing rope leashes I was using for my dog could be better. I found a local rope maker in California’s Central Valley, designed and self-funded a batch of 400 leashes in four patterns, built a website, and launched. They sold out almost immediately.
What began as a small project has grown into a full-fledged outdoor dog gear brand, creating everything you never knew you needed for your dog — from sleeping bags and backpacks to everyday essentials built to last.
Today, I focus on leading our team, managing product design through launch, growing partnerships, and finding new ways to inspire dogs (and their humans) to get outside and explore. Always open to connecting with retailers, collaborators, and fellow adventurers who share that same spirit.
